In this age of superheroes, let us not forget that we already have heroes among us, and they are called ‘MOTHERS’. All Hail the Good Mothers whether housewives or working moms! They are the Mighty Mothers or Superwomen. Nonetheless, Mother’s Day is not all roses, cards, and fine dining restaurants for some. This is not a day of joy for everyone. For some, there is Mother’s Day without a mother due to death. There is Mother’s Day, but the real mother has not been met or seen. McKinley Publishing Hub worked on collecting all these literary works to honour all our mothers who have sacrificed much in order for us to be who we are.
And there are many aspects of motherhood that go unrecognized. The alternative and atypical mothers are left out of the picture. So, we are here to recognize the Mothers in Name Only. Mothers who are losing a battle. Lost Mothers. Unknown Mothers. Single Mothers. Double Mothers. The Dad Mothers. Nurturing the Child of Another or a stranger. The Pseudo Mothers. Soon-to-be Mothers. We recognize the Un-mothered Children. Children raised without a mother. We recognize Children with Withholding Mothers. To whom should they go? Where else would they be? No one else with whom to rest. But in their MOTHER’S EMBRACE.
